Renovation of five bedroom apartment in a Landmarked building on the Upper East Side. The public sequence of the apartment was modified to improve the flow. The central hall was updated with clean lines and restrained details. The kitchen was expanded with a large breakfast room added for informal family dining.
A new central air conditioning system was installed as through wall units are not allowed at the Landmarked street facade. The ductwork is integrated to preserve the ceiling height and architectural character of the apartment.
